Abstract
The mineral content of coconut water in the sample gotten from Akwa Ibom State was determined for Mg, Na, K, P, Fe, Ca, Zn and Cu by using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) techniques. The concentration of the mineral elements investigated lies within the ranges (mg/100g) with Mg (12.23± 0.81) K(10.00± 3.00), P(14.34± 9.28), Fe(7.70± 0.07), Ca(11.12± 0.11),Zn(4.30± 0.00) and Cu(5.30± 0.90).The concentration of the minerals were generally high compared to the RDA standard. The coconut water has no recorded side effect and it is beneficial for healthy living.
