DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A COMPUTERIZED PAYROLL SYSTEM FOR A GOVERNMENT PARASLATAL. A RESEARCH PROJECT MATERIAL ON COMPUTER SCIENCE
ABSTRACT
Payroll is a weekly list of employees which shows all the details relating to their pay. A payroll system is used to prepare the salary of employees and produce its paycheck for each employee. Payroll contains the name, identical number, overtime, rate, hour, tax, welfare, deductions and net pay of each staff.
In most companies, the types of payroll are cumbersome, time wasting and results mutability are highly observed. Owing to this, I decided to do this department a favour by designing a better and reliable payroll system with this new system. Staff salaries / entitlements would improve staff employee relationship, thereby increasing the efficiency of staff.
The aims and objectives for designing and implementation of a computerized payroll system for a government paraslatal is the development to prepare the staff payroll on time and payment made at the earliest time.
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
Computer, the versatile machine had been found very useful in every human endeavour.
Since its incursion into many fields of study, industry, business, science and technology in general.
The unaided human mind in most cases are to cope with the complex nature of the present day decision making, planning and operational processes and as such, industrialized nation were able to make it through the use of computer. Computer usage in the present day society is becoming so universal and people go on careful thinking out methodical approach to computerization of various process and that inspires confidence and guarantees unalloyed success in every endeavour of human life. Computer is found very much in use in many fields of learning such as in social sciences, management sciences, engineering, education, science and technology and in payroll services which is the main object of discussion in this project work.
Payroll services help in computing salaries of employees in an establishment with the use of time card and personnel files.
