ABSTRACT
This research study is focused on Polytechnic Consult Management System using Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua as case study. This study is aimed at creating a system that will eases the people on the stress and hassles of physical contact with the polytechnic consult department, to design a system that will improve the method of informing the people about their results and registrations and to develop a system that will improve on the existing system. The study is necessary because the existing system is prone to mistakes both inadvertent and deliberate, since human is involved. The significant of the study is to implement a computerized platform for Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Consult so as to automate all their day to day activities and make it easy for consulting services as they always do electronically. The research methodology used is systematic methodology and the programming language used for the development of the system is Visual Basic.NET, and MS Access as database.

INTRODUCTION
1.0 Introduction
This chapter introduces the polytechnic consult system. It discusses the problem statement, aim and objectives, significance of the study, scope of the study, organization of the study as well as definition of terms.
Consult management system is a type of information system designed to manage (handle effectively) information within an institution or organization, and in this case, a school. The kind of information includes staff, departments, projects, students, finances, examination, results and other types of data. At its most general level, a management information system may include non-computer based elements, such as the structural hierarchy of an organization. However, in the computing world, an management information system typically refers to the hardware and software used to manage information (Mumtaz, 2013).
A polytechnic consult system digitizes the entire operations of a polytechnic starting from the marketing activities to admission management to classroom management to human resource management to finance management. It digitizes the daily chores of the institution as well as helps in managing the administrative, academic and non-academic activities from a single platform.
