ABSTRACT
This study was undertaken to examine the Role of Trade fair in promoting entrepreneurial pursuits in Akwa Ibom State, a case study of Uyo Chambers of Commerce and Industry. to accomplish the research objectives, the study adopted the survey research design while the convenience sampling technique was used to select fifty respondents as sample size for the study. The instrument of the study was a self-developed questionnaire forms and the forms were personally administered. The study revealed that trade fair has not only created awareness of economic potentials at the state, but has also attracted investors to invest in the state. It projects the local products in the state to the world and also creates market for local products and brings business man closer for meaningful economic developments. The study also provides some useful recommendations such as building a permanent trade fair village for annual exhibition and overhauling of the dilapidated economic and social infrastructural facilities. Also production of large and sufficient quantity of food stuff should be encouraged to save our foreign exchange.

INTRODUCTION
- Background of the Study
According to (Encyclopedia Britannica), trade fairs are temporary markets organized together to transact business. Though trade fairs, manufacturing companies have a direct contact with the public for strategic or competitive reasons.
The aim has always been to expose the rich potentials of the country for economic and social development of the nation. In such exhibitions, the products of interest to buyers, investors or interest groups are exhibited, in doing so Nigeria would diversity from relying so much on crude oil and will improve other sectors of her economy.
