CRISES MANAGEMENT IN NIGERIA TEACHING HOSPITALS.(CASE STUDY UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL ENUGU)
ABSTRACT
The crises management in Nigeria teaching organization has come under focus in recent time. The teaching hospitals are out exceptions. Within the last few years the predominance of crises situations has manifested themselves in different forms. Arbitration panels, industries actions and associated management problems. The aim of this study is to investigate the sources, case, type and institution with a view to finding feasible solutions to these recurrent problems. The case study is the university of Nigeria teaching hospital <UNTH> both primary and secondary data were used in this study primary data were collected through questionnaire and interview on a number of issues such as the source, cause, type and effects of crises chi-square is the quantitative technique used for the data analysis which was needed to test the formulated hypothesis. Consequently the following finding were for the research (1) scare resources, differences individual goals and organizational one the major sources of crises in university of Nigeria teaching hospital <UNTH> (2) the most common type of crises experienced in the UNTH the interpersonal and intergroup crises (3) the attainment of post-conflict order or disorder depends on how the crises itself is handled (4) effective crises management could used to improved organization performance. Based on the above finding the following recommendations are made. (a) Anybody involved in the management of crises should understand the various sources of crises so as to know how best to handle it. (b) Since crises can sometimes used to efficiency management should know when and not to promote. In conclusion to crises and its handling in their organizations for better efficiency.
