ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to investigate “Psychosocial effect of teenage pregnancy and the rehabilitation of female students with hearing impairment in Onitsha, Amambra state” . To guide the study, four research questions were generated which were later transformed to research hypotheses. Literature review was carried out accordingly. Survey/Ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. This research design was considered most appropriate because the researcher has no direct control over the independent variables. A sample of sixty (60) respondents made up of female teenage students with hearing impairment was randomly selected for the study. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire tagged “Psychosocial Effect of Teenage Pregnancy and Rehabilitation Female Students with Hearing Impairment (PETPRFSHI) was the main instrument used for data collection. The instrument was subjected to both face and content validation by the supervisors and experts in measurement and evaluation, research and statistics who vetted the items developed. The reliability estimate of the instrument was established through the test re-test reliability method. Independent t- test was the statistical technique employed to test the hypotheses under study. Each hypothesis was tested at .05 level of significance. The result of the analysis reveals that, Parental factor, Peer group, Sex education and Child abuse significantly influenced the rehabilitation of teenage pregnancy among female students’ with hearing impairment in Onitsha Metropolis of Anambra State, Nigeria. Based on the result, conclusion was drawn and recommendations were made for further study.
