ABSTRACT
The expired Capifen drug was investigated for its synergistic effect for mild steel corrosion in acidic medium (0.5 M H2SO4) using the weight loss techniques. The results obtained shows that expired Capifen drug act as potential inhibitors for mild steel corrosion in H2SO4 solution. The inhibition efficiency was found to increase with increasing concentration of the expired drug while the corrosion rate decreased with increase in the concentrations of the expired capifen drug. The maximum inhibition efficiency was observed to be 88.4% at 400 ppm concentration. Hence, the expired drug could be harness and utilized as green corrosion inhibitor for corrosion prevention and control of metals and its products.
