ABSTRACT
This study “The Changing Role of Women in the Development of Bekwarra Clan in the 20th Century” examines the traditional Society and the contributions of women in the development of Bekwarra community. Data used for the study were sourced through primary and secondary methods of gathering research information. This study seeks to promote full development of Human Resource, especially on part of the Bekwarra women. Finding indicates that women groups and associations contribute greatly in social and economic organizations of the society through mobilization of resources for education, farming, trade and political development of Bekwarra community. In spite of the significance roles played by women in the development of Bekwarra, women are faced with the challenges of family responsibilities and lack of finance. The study concludes that recognizing the relevance of women through material and technical support would enhance a broad based resource capacity for human capital and community development.
