The impact of electronic technology as a life wire for development in the 21st century cannot be overemphasized. Infact, life has become easier with the introduction of information technology to all aspects of human endeavours. Pornography is one aspect of the modern electronic mass media content that has been given little or no attention by the society. Some sections of the society have chosen to regard pornography as part of the normal trend of life while very few have come out to challenge the trend and expose its disastrous effects. This research will examine these trends with a view to identifying the effects and proffer solution. Pornography has been defined as an act of showing naked people or acts that arouse sexual excitement. Pornography comes in different ways or forms like blue films, video games, comic books like Hints, Ikebe super, Fantasy, Hearts, Better Lovers, Tickles and Hot fun etc. Vendors of magazines even confirm that orders are made prior to the publication period to avoid scarcity. They claim that the way they are being patronized results in their continued stay in the business. It has also been confirmed from them that they cannot match the supply of pornographic materials with its demand. This can only confirm the fear that the rush for these materials is assuming the trend of life in our contemporary society.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The problem of pornography is wider in scope even more than the ordinary world. Many things happening around can be attributed to it. It was reported that some young Nigerian ladies were deported from Italy due to engagement in prostitution. If this was a result of pornography then to what extent has pornography contributed to youth sexual progress and how can we then checkmate this hydra-headed problem? The research will try to tackle this problem by breaking it down into the following problems Does pornography contribute to youth’s sexual promiscuity? Is it posing a serious threat to the morals of youths in the society? Is it affecting this local culture and causing an identity problem? Is the government doing enough to combat this trends This is the fulcrum around which this project revolves.

Similarly, for the meaningful legislation on issues of pornography it is important now that the country is working very hard to redeem her image internationally.
1.6 LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
The general applicability of the study findings are as follows; Time is a major factor in data collection and other relevant information for use, Also physical energy was applied because research work is a tedious work and most a times you get worked up in the process. The materials that will enable the researchers get the work done must be readily available else, it becomes difficult to carry an effective study. Hence, the materials needed to carry out an effective research posed another barrier, thus making the researchers to embark on a thorough research to come up with a substantial material, this was another limitation to the study. Lastly, finance is another problem. You have to subscribe to the internet, browse the web, buy books and journals and put the data together. Because of these limitations, the researcher had to concentrate in a particular group to narrow down this work.
1.7 DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY
